Allouma

Allouma is a very short story that is part of the “La Main Gauche collection of short stories”. In this collection of short stories, the stories take place mainly in Normandy or Algeria.

Allouma’s story takes place in Algeria. The narrator finds a lost friend, by chance, in Algeria: Mr. Auballe. He lives as a settler on a wine farm in the hinterland. He will tell the narrator about an affair he had with the beautiful Allouma, a girl from the sand.
