Memoirs of a madman (mémoires d’un fou in French)

Memoirs of a Madman
The memoirs of a madman is a partly autobiographical account written in 1838 by Flaubert and published posthumously in 1901. It is among his earliest works. Flaubert, who was then 17 years old, expressed his boredom and his disgust with life through his writings. He describes his first holidays in Normandy, his first reflections on love, and his college years.
