The Woman Destroyed (La femme rompue in French)
The Woman Destroyed is the third short story in the collection. A woman, Monique, learns that her husband is going to leave her in the story of Simone de Beauvoir. He is having an affair with another woman. Her world, centered around her husband, is collapsing. The diary tells of the many emotions that assault Monique and the fight she leads to keep her world from collapsing.
